PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for screening a substance regulating the activity of a promoter participating in the transcription control of a ceramide kinase gene by specifying the promoter region.

SOLUTION: The DNA is expressed by either one of the following items (a) to (c). (a) A DNA composed of a nucleotide sequence of sequence number 1 of the sequence table; (b) a DNA hybridizing with a DNA composed of a nucleotide sequence complementary to the nucleotide sequence of the sequence number 1 of the sequence table under a stringent condition and having promoter activity in the cell of mammals; and (c) a DNA having ≥95% homology of the nucleotide sequence to the DNA described in the item (a) and having promoter activity in the cell of mammals.
