<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game system, a program and an information storage medium which realize speedy grouping to which the intention of players are reflected. <P>SOLUTION: Based on the indicated positions of the players in a grouping deciding picture in which an optional position in the picture can be indicated, the players are grouped into the first to M-th groups to generate a game picture for allowing the grouped players to play a multi-player game. Based on the positional relation between the first to M-th reference positions set within the grouping deciding picture and the indicated positions of the plurality of players, the plurality of players are grouped into the first to M-th groups corresponding to the first to M-th reference positions. An entire map picture in which the picture of a plurality of game stages is drawn is displayed as the grouping deciding picture. Based on the result of the game by each group, the players are grouped again.
