PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image pickup equipment on which an optical system equipped with a variable shape mirror is mounted and which is miniaturized. SOLUTION: In the image pickup equipment provided with a lens unit for image pickup 2 in an equipment main body 1, the lens unit is equipped with the 1st and the 2nd variable shape mirrors 5 and 6 whose reflection surface shape is deformed by the application of voltage, a free curved surface lens 4 whose two opposed surfaces are made optical surfaces, and an imaging device 8 receiving the light guided by the variable shape mirror and the free curved surface lens, and constituted so that the 1st variable shape mirror reflecting incident light from the front side of the equipment main body is positioned on the back upper lens surface of the free curved surface lens, the 2nd variable shape mirror reflecting reflected light by the 1st variable shape mirror further is positioned on the front lower lens surface of the free curved surface lens, and the imaging device receiving the reflected light by the 2nd variable shape mirror is positioned on the back lower lens surface of the free curved surface lens.
