PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide case hardening steel in which expensive alloy elements such as Cr, Mo, Ni, Si and Mn are reduced, B is added to compensate hardenability, and the coarsening of austenite crystal grains on carburizing is suppressed, and which has excellent bending strength. SOLUTION: The case hardening steel having excellent bending strength has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.10 to 0.35% C, 0.03 to 0.09% Si, 0.20 to 2.0% Mn, 0.0005 to 0.0050% B, >0.1 to 0.2% Ti,≤0.01% N, 0.005 to 0.050% Al and 1.04 to 2.0% Cr, further comprising one or two kinds of metals selected from≤1.5% Mo and≤3.0% Ni, also comprising one or two kinds of metals selected from 0.02 to 0.10% V and 0.02 to 0.10% Nb, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and in which Ti carbides are finely dispersed.
