<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forced air-cooled power conversion apparatus which improves the cooling efficiency by housing a plurality of groups of independent power converter circuits in a single apparatus housing, and incorporating a suitable margin without waste in a plurality of semiconductor element cooling units which improves an apparatus performance and which can realize reduction in size. <P>SOLUTION: Semiconductor element cooling units 7, 8 are constituted of one group of independently operable inverter circuits 5 and converter circuits 4, and arrangements and dispositions of different groups of semiconductor element cooling units 7, 8 are devised in a cooling air tunnel 10. Even if a certain group is disconnected from a system due to a fault, cooling air is effectively supplied to the rest of the cooling units as continuously operating group for effectively cooling without waste of the cooling air. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
