<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter which offers an aerosolized medicament to a patient's lung efficiently by spraying the medicament in the distal end of the catheter placed within a respiratory tract. <P>SOLUTION: This invention is the catheter 416 for providing a patient with an aerosol of the medicament. It has a catheter stem with a proximal end and the distal end. The distal end 436 of this catheter stem bends from an axial line of the longitudinal direction of the catheter stem and has a lumen extending through the catheter stem. It receives the liquid medicament at a proximal end of this lumen and is communicated with a distal medicament orifice 440 to which the medicament is emitted toward the proximal end of the catheter stem at a distal end of the lumen. It has a spraying means which sprays the medicament emitted at the distal medicament orifice, and makes an aerosol plume of a particle of the medicament. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
