PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type motor having proper steering feeling by decreasing a torque pulsation and an iron loss and reducing a cogging torque and to provide a motor-operated power steering apparatus. SOLUTION: In the motor-operated power steering apparatus in which a permanent magnet type motor 3 is coupled to a column shaft 2 of a steering wheel1 via a gear 4 to impart an assistant torque to the rotating operation of the wheel 1, the motor 3 is magnetic flux-weakening controlled in a driving region in which a power supply voltage becomes larger than the sum of a counterelectromotive force (no-load induced voltage) of the motor and a voltage of an armature reaction part voltage.
