PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a user to properly recognize the positional relationship between the range of a display map and the current position, even when the display map is scrolled to a range which does not include the current position. SOLUTION: A main control part 107 generates an image 55 of a sub-map, including the current position and the position corresponding to a cursor, when a range (a) of an image 52 of a main map, displayed with reference to the current position, is scrolled to the range which does not include the current position by an operation of the user (b), and generates a slave display image by drawing on the image of the generated sub-map, a reference diagram representing the positional relationship of the sub-map in the range of the main map image 52 with the image 55, such as a mark 56 representing the current position, a mark 57 representing the position corresponding to the cursor 53 on the main map image, a contour line 58 representing the range of the image 52 of the main map, and so forth.
