PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide solar position detecting equipment which can accurately measure the angle of incidence of sunlight. SOLUTION: In the solar position detecting equipment, since a light-transmitting window 24 arranged on a light-shielding plate 23 has a first edge 24a and a second edge 24b, which are arranged in a shape of widening at last, a third edge S1 and a fourth edge S2, which correspond to the respective edges 24a, 24b of the light-transmitting window 24 are arranged in a shape of widening at last, in an irradiation region S of sunlight L, which passes the light transmission window 24. By the above constitution, when anglesα,βof the incidence of the sunlight L are changed in accordance with the change, the positions wherein the respective edges S1, S2 intersect an imaging region 25a of a linear sensor 25 are changed. As a result, the anglesα,βof incidence of the sunlight L can be measured accurately, by detecting positions of the respective edges S1, S2 in the imaging region 25a, on the basis of output signals from the linear sensor 25.
