<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiviral composition which is excellent in safety, can be daily taken over a long term, and has an antiviral action on pathogenic viruses causative of infectious diseases of animals including the Homo. <P>SOLUTION: This antiviral composition contains an extract of mulberry leaves as an effective component. Preferably, the extract is the one obtained by using water, an organic solvent, or a mixture thereof as an extractant.
