<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting apparatus and a mobile terminal system for collecting news materials, which enable a reporter to secure valuable and effective news from the news materials. <P>SOLUTION: A server 3 detects whether a mobile terminal 1 is located in the vicinity of a news location, depending on a result obtained by the server 3 that checks the close vicinity of the news location. As the result of that detection, the sever sends a message for requesting the mobile terminal 1 which is located in the vicinity of the detected location to collect the news materials, if the server detects that the mobile terminal 1 is located in the close vicinity of the detected location. The mobile terminal 1 located in the close vicinity of the location sends the news materials collected to the server 3 after the news collection, which responds to the message for requesting to collect the news materials.
