PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor capable of reducing mechanical loss and windage loss. SOLUTION: This compressor has a stator 1 formed in an E-shape opened toward a movable element 2 and having a stator iron core 11 having winding 12 on the middle horizontal edge 11c of the E-shape, and the movable element 2 each comprising a movable element iron core 21, a permanent magnet 22, and a movable element iron core 21 axially arranged in order. Two movable elements 2 are axially arranged with a prescribed distance. The respective movable element iron cores 21 of the movable elements 2 are opposed to at least the inwardly protruded part of the stator iron core 11, and the permanent magnets of both the movable elements 2 are magnetized axially and in the same direction. A nonmagnetic Oldham's coupling 3 as a mechanism for arresting the rotation is arranged between the two movable elements 2, and movable scrolls 4 are provided at the respective end parts not mutually opposed of the movable elements 2.
