<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink solving problems of a twisted discharge and stoppage of discharge due to wetting equally to a self dispersive pigment, especially being improved in rubbing smear resistance to soiling of printed character caused by rubbing after printing while having reliability for the ink toward a recording head used for ink-jet recording, and being improved in marker-smear resistance to printed character soiling produced in the case of imparting the aqueous marker to an image after printing and containing the self dispersive pigment of a resin bonding type. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous ink contains a modified pigment in which an organic group is bonded chemically with the surface of the pigment particle, and an aqueous medium as a dispersing medium of the pigment. The organic group contains a reaction product of a functional group chemically attached to the surface of the pigment directly or via another atomic group and a copolymer of an ionic monomer and a hydrophobic monomer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
