PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear mechanism for an electric power steering device not requiring replacement of a gear case even when failure of a bearing is found after the bearing is built in the gear case or when a gear ratio of the reduction gear mechanism is changed. SOLUTION: This mechanism is provided with an inner case 14 rotatably supporting a worm shaft 19, an assembly hole 13 formed in a gear case 10 and having the inner case 14 inserted therein, and adjustment mechanisms 25, 27 adjusting a position of the inner case 14 in the assembly hole 13. An electric motor M is fixed on the inner case 14 and an output shaft 17 of the motor M is connected to the worm shaft 19. And a worm gear 22 provided on the worm shaft 19 meshes with a worm wheel 23 via an opening 30 formed on the inner case 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
