PURPOSE: A method for controlling a skip operation on an optical disc device is provided to quickly search a desired recording position by gradually increasing a preset skip time interval depending on a successive input number or time of a skip key. CONSTITUTION: The successive input number of the skip key for randomly accessing a position to record data is checked(S31). The skip time interval is variably controlled according to the successive input number(S34). The position to record the data is jumped to the variably controlled skip time interval(S35). In case that the successive input number of the skip key is over a predetermined number, the skip time interval is increased as much as the predetermined time(S37).
