摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method and a charging device for a secondary battery capable of attaining a substantially long life of the secondary battery and of recovering the function of the secondary battery considered to be locally shorted. SOLUTION: A function of supplying a charging current for charging the secondary battery, a sense current smaller than the charging current and a recovery current enlarged than the charging current in a range that the secondary battery is not broken is added to the charging device. The sense current is applied to the secondary battery, and a magnitude relation between the terminal voltage and predetermined voltage of the secondary battery is determined. If the terminal voltage is lower than the predetermined voltage, the operation of temporarily making the recovery current flow is carried out once or a plurality of times in the range that the secondary battery is not broken. If the terminal voltage is still lower than the predetermined voltage, it is determined as failed. If the terminal voltage is higher than the predetermined voltage, charging operation with the predetermined charging current is carried out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
