PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an osteoblast differentiation-inducing enhancer and a method of evaluating the activity of osteoblast differentiation-inducing enhancement. SOLUTION: This osteoblast differentiation-inducing enhancer comprises a compound having a histone deacetylase (HDAC)-inhibiting activity or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an effective ingredient. The method for evaluating the activity of osteoblast differentiation-inducing enhancement comprises (1) a precess for measuring the HDAC activity in the presence of a subject compound and (2) a process for evaluating the osteoblast differentiation-inducing enhancement activity of the subject compound by comparing the HDAC activity measured by the process (1) with that in the absence of the subject compound.
