In a tractor-pushed side-delivery rake of the rotary-reel and tine-bar type, the frame comprises a pivoted parallelogram swing- able about two fixed vertical axes 17, 18 relative to the tractor so that the device can operate either as a side-delivery rake, or as a tedder. In Fig. 1 the rear part 14 of the frame is fixed to the tractor 2 and the fore-part 5 is supported on two swivelwheels 3, 4 linked by a track-rod 46. The wheels are steered by a bell-crank 56 connected by links 51, 53, a chain and cable transmission 61, 63, and further links 48, 49, 44 to the swivel-wheel 3. The other two sides of the parallelogram comprise bars 12, 13 which are interconnected by U- shaped rods 32 terminating in guide-members 35 on the delivery side of the rake. The tine-bars 24 are pivoted to spiders 27, 28, of which the rear one 28 is driven through a gear-box 43 from the tractor. The inclination of the parallelogram to the line of movement is fixed by an arm 23, integral with the bar 12, which can be pinned to a sector-plate 20 carried by the frame-part 14. In Fig. 4 the fore-carriage 72 is mounted on swivel-wheels 64, 65, which are interconnected by a track-rod 84, the track-rod being moved bodily through a lug 84 connected by a double Bowden-cable 85 to a steering lever 87 pivoted about a vertical axis 89A on the rear frame-part 72A. The lever 87 may also be moved about a horizontal axis 89 and this movement is transmitted by another Bowden-cable 78 to bell-cranks 76 pivoted on standards 73 and connected to collars 81 on the ends of the vertical spindles 66A, 67A of the wheels. Vertical movement of the lever 87 thus raises and lowers the wheels while lateral movement steers them. A lever 92D and detent 91 maintains the lever in any position of vertical adjustment. |
