950,433. Change-speed gear. GEORG FISCHER A.G. Oct. 16, 1962 [Oct. 20, 1961], No. 39200/62. Heading F2D. A change-speed gear, especially for a lathe, comprises first and second transmission shafts 64, 21, of which the former is driven by an electric motor 1 through a pinion 61 incorporating a one-way clutch 65 and carries a pair of disc clutches 14, 18, while the latter carries a disc clutch 27 and a disc brake 54, the drums of the clutches 14, 27 being connected through spur pinions 15, 26. The shafts carry meshing spur pinions 62, 68, the latter including a one-way clutch 67. Drive to the lathe spindle 43 is transmitted through a layshaft 35 carrying pinions 36, 38 meshing with pinions 55, 23 on shaft 21, and pinions 40, 41 meshing with spindle pinions 44, 45, engagement being controlled by dog-clutches 37, 39, 56, 57. In a second arrangement, Figs. 1-3 (not shown), a second shaft (4) carrying two disc clutches in a similar manner to shaft 64 is fitted, the one-way clutch 67 being omitted. The number of gearratios may be increased by fitting pole reversible motors. |
