The assembly for marking a thin workpiece has one or more lamps (1), and a light field (3) which is at least partially translucent. The light field is formed by a frame (4) of a thermoplastic material, where the lamps are LEDs as surface mounted devices (SMD) with a direct electrical connection through a printed circuit (2). The frame is mounted to the printed circuit by matching matrixes (7). The hollow space (10) is flanked by reflectors (11).
