GAIN CONTROL CIRCUIT AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gain control circuit that realizes a simple circuit configuration and can stably adjust the intensities of signals at high speeds, and to provide a gain control method. SOLUTION: Fig.1 shows the gain control circuit which controls the gains of input signals. A gain control unit 11 generates output signals by controlling the gains of the input signals based on a gain control value used for deciding the magnitudes of gains. A first control value deciding section 15 decides a first control value from the signal level calculated by means of a signal level calculating section 12, by referring to a first control value reference table correlating the signal levels of the output signals with the first control value the value of which changes in accordance with the magnitudes of the signal levels. A gain control value calculating section 14 calculates a gain control value based on the first control value decided by means of the first control value deciding section 15. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
