Transformable seat for an automobile vehicle where the seat lifts up and the backrest folds down in simultaneous movements. A link bar 12 articulated on the seat portion 2 and on the backrest 3 has an articulation pin 13 below the plane P containing the articulation pin 7 of a connecting rod 6 linking the seat portion to the floor, and the articulation pin 14 of the link bar on the backrest, a guiding ramp 15 ensures the translation of a point A of the link bar with the object of lifting the said pin 13 above the aforementioned plane. The articulation pin 14 can move in a guiding slot 20 carried by the bar 12 whilst a lock 24 articulated with a spring is carried by a pin securely fixed to the same bar in an intermediate point of the latter situated in the zone for applying the bending forces in the vicinity of the floor and rests on a retaining stop 27. <IMAGE>
