PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently eliminate distortion in a forging such as a forging blade. SOLUTION: The support system is used for supporting the elimination work of the distortion generated in the forging. Distortion-elimination condition data are stored in a support database 12, where the distortion-elimination condition data indicate distortion-elimination conditions corresponding to a distortion pattern for indicating at least the amount of distortion, a distortion direction, and a distortion position for each forging, and the surface configuration of the forging is measured by a 3D measuring apparatus 13 for obtaining measured three-dimensional configuration data. In a supporting apparatus 11, design three-dimensional configuration data for indicating a three-dimensional configuration that is the design data of the forging are compared with the measuring three-dimensional configuration data, the distortion pattern of the forging is examined, and hence distortion pattern data are acquired. In the supporting apparatus, the distortion-elimination condition data corresponding to the distortion pattern most approximating the distortion pattern data most are read from the support database for displaying the distortion-elimination condition data as guidance information.
