PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent-free overprint varnish which forms a coating film showing a high adhesion, especially bend adhesion performance, to a printing surface of a substrate or to a thermal transfer ink and an excellent chemical resistance, water resistance, wear resistance and transparency, and a printed matter using the same. SOLUTION: The overprint varnish comprises 100 pts.mass active energy ray-curing monomer and 25-75 pts.mass polymer. Here, the active energy ray-curing monomer contains a mono(meth)acrylate, a di(meth)acrylate and a tri(meth)acrylate, and the polymer comprises, by mass, 30-86% styrenes, 5-50% acrylates, 5-50% methacrylates and 4-20% acrylamides. The obtained printed matter has an overprint layer comprising the overprint varnish on the printing surface of the substrate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
