A system LSI (10) includes an encoder (32) for compressing an image, a decoder (33) for decompressing the compressed image, a video encoder (34) for converting a digital image into an analog image, a hard disc controller (25), and a microcomputer (27). This system LSI (10) can constitute a hard disc recorder (1) by adding a video decoder (11), a host microcomputer (12), a hard disc drive (HDD), and the like. By using a single chip, it is possible to share a memory, easily realize synchronization control, and reduce the production cost. Since the video decoder (11) is provided separately from the system LSI (10), it is possible to enhance the general-purpose characteristic, easily cope with an operation defect, and realize cost reduction. It is possible to obtain the hard disc recorder (1) at a low cost.
