PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital camera capable of effectively utilizing a photometric sensor arranged for an automatic stroboscopic function, and also optimizing light quantity emitted by the stroboscope even during daylight flash synchronization photographing, and to obtain a light emitting control method, a recording medium, and light emitting control program. SOLUTION: An external light quantity is measured by the photometric sensor 24 arranged for the automatic stroboscopic function before a light emitting part 30 constituted of the stroboscope emits light, and on the basis of the external light quantity obtained by the measurement, a CPU 22 derives a light emission halting threshold value that is a threshold value when the light emitting part 30 stops emitting light when performing the automatic stroboscopic function.
