PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid, made of paper as its main material, for hermetically sealing a container, wherein the lid maintains the conventional pealing strength in unsealing, avoids a production cost increase, and prevents the lid itself from tearing. SOLUTION: The lid for hermetically sealing an opening defined along the upper edge of a container body comprises a paper layer serving as an outermost layer, an aluminum foil as an intermediate layer, and a sealant layer as the innermost layer. The sealant layer 30 is formed from a co-extrusion film which has a five-layer structure consisting of a polyethylene resin layer 36, an adhesive resin layer 33, a polyester or polyamide resin layer 34, an adhesive resin layer 33, and an easy-to-peel resin layer 32.
