PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swimming aid which is effective for efficient instructions. SOLUTION: This aid for swimming herein developed is provided with plate-like paddles positioned respectively on the soles of a user and a fixing means for fixing the paddles on the feet of the user. According to such an arrangement, it is made clear that the trainee who is used to make wrong leg actions feels no water pressure on the soles of the feet and the inside surfaces thereof. Therefore, an instructor can try to correct the feet of the trainee from above the aid to let him gain the right leg actions so that the trainer can feel the water pressures on the paddles, normally on the soles of the feet and the inside surfaces thereof and experiences the water pressures different from those felt when performing the wrong leg actions. This enables the recognition of a difference between the wrong and right leg actions in the breast stroke. In addition, the aid is presumed to be taken off with the wrong leg actions, thereby serving as a good material for the trainees to recognize the right leg actions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
