PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the formation of scale in a paper-pulp manufacturing process to prevent the scale-forming of an inorganic compound salt in a process water independent of metallic ions and paper-making chemicals in the water by treating the water with ultrasonic wave. SOLUTION: The scale-formation of an inorganic compound salt in a process water can be prevented in the manufacture of paper-pulp by radiating ultrasonic wave having a frequency of≥20 kHz and an intensity of≥0.3 W/cm<SP>2</SP>at the irradiated point to the process water at one or more steps selected from a raw material preparation step, a digestion step, a pulping step, a pulp washing step, a bleaching step, a paper-making step, a waste liquid recovery step, a waste liquid treating step and an alkali recovery step.
