PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a take-up device for an electronic-component carrier tape which discards a spent carrier tape for electronic components, easily, compactly, and being sorted into material categories. SOLUTION: The take-up device comprises a take-up reel 50 for taking up a spent carrier tape 74 which is made of paper, resin, or the like, and on which electronic components have been mounted; a rotary-axis member 40 on which the take-up reel 50 is loaded so that the circumferential surface touches the take-up reel 50 to rotate the take-up reel 50; a supporting member 48 which is installed almost parallel to the rotary-axis member 40, and supports the take-up reel 50 by touching the circumferential surface of the take-up reel 50; and pinching members 52 that are arranged parallel along the rotary-axis member 40 and the supporting member 48 to pinch the take-up reel 50 rotatably. The rotary-axis member 40 exerts a larger frictional force against the take-up reel 50 than the supporting member 48 does, and hence rotates the take-up reel 50 to the take-up direction.
