<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of carrying a proper amount of a catalyst component on each diesel particulate filter in a proper condition even if the pressure loss and the mass of the filters vary when the catalyst component is carried on the filter. <P>SOLUTION: In the method, one end of the diesel particulate filter is dipped in a solution containing the catalyst component, and the solution is vacuum-sucked from the other end, so that the catalyst component is carried on the filter. Before the catalyst component is carried, information on the pressure loss and mass of the filter 1 is indicated on the surface of the filter 1.
