LIGHT FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a light frequency synthesizer capable of generating light whose frequency is controlled highly accurately and stably in the bandpass over dozens of THz.

SOLUTION: This synthesizer is provided with: a light frequency variable light source controllable of oscillation light frequency; a multi-mode reference light source outputting multi-mode light of a longitudinal interval fmwith a reference mode of a reference light frequencyν0as a center; a light dividing means dividing output light from the light frequency variable light source into two parts and outputting one of the parts to the outside; a light multiplex means multiolexing the output light of the frequency variable light source divided by the light dividing means and the output light of the multi-mode reference light source; a light detecting means outputting a beat electric signal corresponding to beat light of output light of the frequency variable light source and output light (one longitudinal mode) of the multi-mode reference light source; and a lightl frequency control part measuring the oscillation light frequency of the frequency variable light source by inputting the beat electric signal and controlling the oscillation light frequency of the frequency variable light source so that the measured valueνXbecomes a target optical frequencyνX0.
