<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file system with a fault recovery function, which is constituted to prevent influence on reliability and normal file operation performance provided in the file system, and also which includes required fault recovery performance. <P>SOLUTION: A journal file is generated as a file under the control of the file system, wherein a log is to be recorded. When a file operation is requested by an application program, the start of a file operation request processing, and meta data updating information with the file operation request processing concerning the object file are recorded in the journal file. The journal file is checked when the system is started. In discovering an incomplete file operation processing, the file operation is recovered based on information which is recorded in the journal file. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
