PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shake correction camera capable of securing the accuracy of shake correction without causing cost rise by varying correcting operation in accordance with the directivity of camera shake. SOLUTION: A shake detection means 1 detects the camera shake and outputs a detection signal in accordance with the magnitude of the shake. A position correction means 2 is actuated and displaced to change an image forming position. A driving control means 3 drives to actuate and displace the correction means 2 based on the detection signal outputted from the detection means 1, and controls to correct image blur caused by the camera shake. The driving means 31 of the control means 3 drives to displace the correction means 2, and an arithmetic operation means 32 determines displacing amount by which the driving means 31 drives to actuate and displace the correction means 2 based on the detection signal. Such constitution that the arithmetic operation means 32 determines the displacing amount and the driving means actuates to displace the correction means 2 by the determined displacing amount is different in two directions orthogonal to each other and corresponding to the directivity of the camera shake.
