PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile device and a control method therefor capable of printing a document, etc. specified by a user even during a print inhibition period, and preventing unnecessary power consumption after the elapse of the print inhibition period. SOLUTION: When a manual printout instruction is issued from an operation panel 5 during the print inhibition period, the facsimile apparatus turns on the power supply to an image output device 9 and forwards the document for printout to the image output device 9, and executes the instructed printout operation despite the print inhibition period. Also, facsimile documents received and accumulated during the print inhibition period is printed out according to a first user operation after the completion of the print inhibition period.
