DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANAGING PICTURE, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience and robustness in management of a picture file. SOLUTION: In PC1, a CPU 11a compares the file names of an existing picture file and a picture file to be added to an electronic album when the picture file is added to the electronic album. When the file names are judged to match as a result of comparison, the contents of picture data in the respective picture files whose file names match are compared. When it is not judged that the contents of picture data are the same or similar, the file name of the picture file which is automatically added is changed by a prescribed procedure. The picture file whose file name is judged to be not matching the existing picture file or the picture file whose file name is changed is added to the electronic album. Databases storing information of the picture files that follow the directories are arranged in the individual directories of a hard disk 14 in PC1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
