The telescopic arrangement has a first (91) and second element which are linearly adjustable in relation to one another and with a first spring in between them. A locking mechanism is provided at the end of the first element and has a locking plate (20) adjustable in an axial position for a release and a safety position, and in a radial direction between a locking and an unlocking position, and a second (30) and a third spring (40) exerts radial and axial forces on the locking plate. An independent claim is included for a locking mechanism for a telescopic arrangement which is adjustable in an axial and a radial position.
