A primer liquid-applying apparatus (20) for a glass plate has a liquid-applying member (33) for applying primer liquid on the periphery portion of a glass plate (10), an end face contact member (34) butted against an end face (13) of the glass plate, a holding member (32) for supporting the liquid-applying member and the end face contact member in a manner where the two members are perpendicular to each other, and a cylinder unit (35) provided on the holding member to change the position of the end face contact member. An application width (W) by the liquid-applying member is freely varied by changing the position of the end face contact member using the cylinder unit.
