<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, in which when modifying the constitution thereof using only a regular toner to enable an image formation by a special toner, the image can be appropriately formed in accordance with the characteristics of the special toner. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is equipped with an image carrier 10, a 1st developing unit 13 for forming an image on the image carrier 10 by one or several 1st developers, transfer parts 15, 20 and 24 for transferring the image formed on the image carrier to a recording medium, and also, constituted so that a 2nd developing unit 13 for forming an image on the image carrier 10 by one or several 2nd developer other than the 1st developer can be loaded to the apparatus, and also, equipped with developing unit judging parts 13a and 13b for judging the type of the developing unit loaded to the image forming apparatus and a control part 70 for controlling the lamination of the images on the recording medium based on the judgement results of the parts 13a and 13b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
