<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FC network capable of virtually increasing the capacity of reception buffers of FC apparatuses so as to avoid a frame transfer rate from being decreased due to delay through a transmission line even when the FC apparatuses with a small capacity of the reception buffers located at a long distance are interconnected. <P>SOLUTION: FC transmission transfer apparatuses 3, 4 convert signals of an FC-1 layer received from FC apparatuses 1, 7 into signals in compliance with various WANs, transfer the resulting signals via a WAN 100 to other FC apparatuses 4, 3, which restore the signals of the FC-1 layer from the signals in compliance with the various WANs and transmit the signals to the FC apparatuses 1, 7. Proxy FC ports 2, 6 provide a large capacity reception buffers on behalf of the FC apparatuses 1, 7 adjacent to the proxy FC ports 1, 7, so as to attain long distance transmission via the WAN 100 between the FC apparatuses 1, 7 thereby acting like part of the FC ports of the adjacent FC apparatuses 1, 7. For example, the FC apparatus 7 and the proxy FC port 6 act like a virtual FC apparatus 5 equipped with a large capacity reception buffer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
