摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switching system which attains ultra high-speed operation in the communication wavelength region and satisfies various kinds of requirements on the high level by supplying carbon nanotube for optical application. <P>SOLUTION: The optical switching system is provided with an optical control part 16 irradiated with signal light 10 composed of an optical pulse train, a control light applying means 14 which applies the pulsed control light 20 synchronized with the signal light 10 to the optical control part 16, permits the optical pulse array in the signal light 10 to selectively transmit and forms the output signal light 10', a clock extraction means 12 which allows the controlled light 20 applied by the control light applying means 14 to synchronize with the signal light 10 and a signal detection means 18 receiving the output signal light 10'.
