PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display with which one sheet or a plurality of sheets of still pictures or moving pictures are displayed and in which an inexpensive safe natural light source (a white light source) is used. SOLUTION: A display comprises: a display board 50 having at least one core layer 1 sandwiched by portions having lower refractive indices and wave-guiding light and at least one diffraction grating layer 2 provided at the boundary of the core layer 1 and the portions having the lower refractive indices or in the core layer 1; at least one light source 5; and at least one color filter 4. The light source 5 and the color filter 4 are arranged so that incident light 9 generated from the light source 5 is made incident on the core layer 1 through the color filter 4.
