A parting tool for cutting sleeves from tubular material (12) has a rotating cutting disc (8) on a tilt and rotating mounting to cut from the inside of the tube. The angle of the disc is adjustable and the mounting includes an eccentric adjustment. The system has controlled radial and axial pressure to prevent vibration. The tube is clamped (18, 20) with a controlled radial grip. The clamping grip can be used to bend the tube wall, locally in order to obtain a selected cutting angle.
