<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents distribution method capable of judging optimum multicast switching time following a dynamic change relating to the entire network and converting a unitcast traffic distribution system to a multicast distribution system, and to provide a content distribution system using it. <P>SOLUTION: In the network capable of performing stream content distribution faster than a reproducing speed, two or more lines of the unitcast traffic of the same stream contents are integrated to one line of multicast traffic at appropriate conversion time (steps 54-58) on the basis of contents information, distribution start time information, distribution speed information and unicast/multicast distribution information distributed from a content distribution server to a plurality of user terminals and the viewing completion/viewing incompletion information of stream contents acquired by the plurality of user terminals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
