<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device which is equipped with a position measuring function of a GPS or the like, and is capable of extending its operating time by using a battery efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: A main CPU 21 being a power supply control means controls electric energy supplied from the battery 40, and returns an information processing means 20 from a standby state to its normally operating state, synchronously with an input of a 1PPS signal (pulses generated by a period of one second on the basis of a navigation wave from a satellite 1) being a synchronizing signal generated by a CPU 31. When no 1PPS signals are generated, an internal 1PPS signal generated by the CPU 31 on the basis of oscillation by an RTC 35 is used as a synchronizing signal. Moreover, the main CPU 21 controls the electric energy again corresponding to the finish of predetermined processing by the processing means 20, and transfers the processing means 20 into a standby state.
