PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor for audio signals or video signals in which, when a control value is set, a single operation element enables to set with a high degree of sensitivity and accuracy in respect to small correction and also to quickly and roughly set in respect to large correction, and with the operation element, functions of the processor are controlled. SOLUTION: A first value is converted into a second value in a second convertor in accordance with a selected assignment characteristic curve, and to the operation element a control quantity is fed for controlling selection of a specific assignment characteristic curve.
