PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas oil composition which has a sulfur content of≤50 mass ppm, does not plug filters at low temperature, and satisfies a practical performance and an exhaust gas-cleaning performance. SOLUTION: This gas oil composition is characterized by having a sulfur content of≤50 mass ppm, a slow cooling clouding point (X) of -10.0 to 0.0°C, a linear regression straight line inclination (Y) of≤0.25 determined from the 20 to 27C normal paraffin content of the composition, a coefficient (Z) represented by the following expression (1): Z=(X+10)×(1.5708×Y+0.0129) at a value of≤2.0, a 27C normal paraffin content of≥0.003 mass % in the composition, a pour point of≤-7.5°C, a cloud filter plugging point of≤-5°C, a cetane index of≥45.0, a dynamic viscosity of 2.5 to 6.0 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 30°C, a 90% distillation temperature of≤350°C, an HFRR WS 1.4 value of≤460μm, a flash point of≥50°C, and a residual carbon content of≤0.1 mass % in 10% residual oil.
