PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new safer medicament for treatment, having antimicrobial activities against a staphylococcus including MRSA and MRSE, exhibiting clear infection-treating effects, and effective for infectious disease of gram-positive bacteria, especially infectious disease of the staphylococcus including the MRSA and the MRSE. SOLUTION: The antimicrobial agent consisting essentially of a steroid derivative is represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are the same or different and each a cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene skeleton which may have a substituent; R<SB>3</SB>is a dibasic carboxylic acid residue).
