The handle (6) is connected to a crossbeam (3) joining two inverted L-shaped frames (7). The ends of the horizontal arms of the frames are hinged (1,2) to a fixed support. The lower ends of the vertical arms may be hinged (5) to a flat square compression plate (4). Pushing the handle downward pushes the square plate down into the bin to compress the waste paper.
