PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transferability without applying high bias voltage in the case of transfer for a back surface in a double-sided printer where an image is transferred and fixed on the back surface after it is transferred and fixed on a front surface. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic double-sided printer 4 equipped with a transfer roller 11 coming into press-contact with a photoreceptor drum 22 is provided with a displacing and driving means for changing a distance between both shaft centers of the drum 22 and the roller 11. In the printer 4, the roller 11 is distorted by making the distance between both shaft centers of them shorter in transferring the image to the back surface than in transferring it to the front surface by the displacing and driving means.
